Get a Life - part deux!
Perth based Briton Ian Usher, the man who put his 'life' up for auction on eBay, announced that the auction has closed and that the winning bid was by another man, also another Briton living in Australia, who had offered £192,000. Mr. Usher was expecting a higher offer for his life, but says that "what's done is done," and that he had no regrets.

Effective 1st July 2008, traffic offenders in Holly Springs, Georgia, USA will have to pay an additional US$12 to cover the fuel costs incurred while being chased down by the police. Soaring oil prices have seen many industries transferring costs to consumers, and it looks like the police are starting to pick up these cost saving tactics from the private sector!

Drunken Swede tries to row home - from Denmark!
A drunk 78-year old Swedish man fell asleep trying to row back home from Denmark. The man had been reportedly drinking in the Danish town of Helsingor, but that final 'one for the road' must have been one too much as he discovered he had insufficient funds for the ferry back to Sweden.
He proceeded to steal a dinghy and attempted to make the 5km trip across to Helsingborg, Sweden, but only made it halfway before falling asleep. He was discovered by the coast guard, who then towed him back to Denmark, where he was put on board a ferry to Sweden after he had sobered up. The owner of the dingy has decided not to press charges.

The bees, and the bees, and the bees
A lorry carrying 330 crates of honey bees traveling along Canada's Trans-Canada highway tipped over, freeing over 12 million bees. Luckily enough enough, a downpour has been keeping most of the bees, who dislike rain, hanging onto the back of the truck and on the pavement behind the truck. Now, to find some beekeepers brave enough to wander into a contagion of bees in order to lure them back into their hives.

A tobacco ban has been enforced throughout cafes and bars in the Netherlands, resulting in licensed cannabis cafes giving patrons no choice but to smoke only pure marijuana.
