I met Karen back in 1998. She was amongst those I knew who was skewed towards the higher end of the intelligence scale and used to smile a lot. It was through her that I came across Dave Matthews and Neil Gaiman. And Counting Crows and Moloko for that matter. I guess being exposed to certain things by a significant other holds greater impact in our lives than we realize. I can't imagine myself reading Famous Five while listening to Britney Spears. I really can't. *shudder*
Likewise with Yin Ee who literally shoved "Catcher in the Rye" into my hands and Shelley who introduced "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "Vernon, God Little" to me affected my reading direction. Zal brought Jazz to my life and reinforced my preference for Alanis and Cranberries, Shelley reinforced Tori Amos and introduced Etta James and err... Shelley music.
I don't remember who introduce Portishead to me though. It's either Adrian or Karen.
I discovered Frente, Sneaker Pimps, Massive Attack and Billie Holiday by spending excessive time in music stores.
And it's 8am, I just woke up 3 hours ago after an 8 hour sleep and I'm sleepy again. Maybe it's something to do with the really nice rain outside. Great sleeping weather.
Good Morning.
Good Night.

You know, David Mitchell sounds suspiciously like that English striker from the old English Division Two who did wonders for Selangor FC :P
